Next Generation Learning: Open Space Technology
Harrison Owen, commonly known as the father of Open Space Technology (OST), shared that "OST is simply a learning/teaching framework which enables participants to create and manage their own program of parallel sessions around a theme." Owen's framework is effective in situations where a diverse group of people wish to deal with complex and potentially conflicting material in innovative and productive ways. It is particularly powerful when nobody knows the answer and the ongoing participation of a number of people is desired. It was a lively structured — yet free-thinking — session to gather around topics of interest and participate in a robust and productive conversation.
